Working Principe
GML803-B transmits and receives very short microwave pulses with very low energy through the antenna system. Radar waves travel at the speed of light. The running time can be converted into a level signal by electronic components. --A special time extension method can ensure stable and accurate measurement in a very short time.
Even if the working conditions are more complicated and there are false echoes, the latest micro-processing technology, and debugging software can accurately analyze the level echoes.
Input
The antenna receives the reflected microwave pulse and transmits it to the electronic circuit. The microprocessor processes the signal and identifies the echo generated by the micropulse on the surface of the material. The correct echo signal recognition is completed by the pulse software, and the accuracy can reach mm meter level. The distance D from the surface of the material is proportional to the time travel T of the pulse:
D = CxT / 2, where C is the speed of light
Since the distance E of the empty tank is known, the level L is: L = E-D
Output
By inputting the empty tank height E (= zero), full tank height F (= full range) and some application parameters to set, the application parameters will automatically adapt the meter to the measurement environment, corresponding to 4-20mA output.

Installation Requirements
The radar level gauge is installed at 1/4 or 1/6 of the diameter. Note: The minimum distance from the tank wall should be ≥300mm.
Can not be installed above the feed inlet. It cannot be installed in the center position, as shown in Figure 1.
In the signal beam, the following obstacles ①② should be avoided, as shown in Figure 2. (If it is unavoidable, use a guided-wave tube for measurement.) The beam transmitter of the rod radar must extend and install a short tube, and the length of the tube should not exceed 15cm, as shown in Figure 3.
The horn antenna must extend out of the installation short tube, the horn antenna must be adjusted to vertical, do not let the radar beam point at the tank wall, as shown in Figure 4.

Power Supply
(4 ~ 20) mA / HART (two-wire system):
The power supply and the output current signal share a two-core shielded cable. See technical data for a specific supply voltage range. For intrinsically safe type, a safety barrier must be added between the power supply and the instrument.
(4 ~ 20) mA / HART (four-wire system):
Separate the power supply and the current signal, and use a two-core shielded wire for each. See technical data for a specific supply voltage range.
RS485 / Modbus:
